Ask the right questions at the viewing
Who pays for maintenance? Are utilities included? How is the security deposit returned? Is there a backup power arrangement?
Write the answers down — they become the foundation of your agreement.
Read the agreement carefully
A good rent agreement states the rent, increase percentage, deposit, notice period and responsibilities for repairs. Register it with the police station as required in your city.
Tip: Take dated photos of every room on move-in day and share them with the landlord.
Plan your move
Book movers early, transfer utilities into your name where needed and keep receipts for everything you pay.
